Life at Home

The power of finding beauty in the humblest things makes home happy and life lovely.
— Louisa May Alcott

No matter where I’ve lived, one of my favorite things to do has always been taking walks around our home. Even as a child, I would explore our country home to see what would catch my eye. Most of the homes I have lived in have had manicured landscapes, and I enjoyed the structure and beauty of those properties. But I always knew that I would eventually want to move back to the country where I could explore a more natural setting. Whether it’s a walk through our woods or a stroll in the yard, I love finding pretty things to stop at and admire. So as I take my routine walks, with camera in hand, I plan to take lots of photos to document the treasures I find at our new home.

As the sun was setting yesterday, I took a short walk through our front yard to check on the progress of our daffodils that are starting to peek out of the ground. It was getting dark, but the sun was still shining through the trees just enough to illuminate these beauties. What a beautiful end to my day!
